The Colorado Rockies suffered another defeat at Coors Field on Tuesday, falling 7–4 to the Philadelphia Phillies. This loss extended the Rockies’ struggles, bringing their record to 8–40, while the Phillies improved to 30–18, maintaining their lead in the National League East.

The Phillies struck early, scoring three runs in the first inning. The Rockies responded with a run in the fourth, but the Phillies added another in the fifth to extend their lead to 4-1. However, the Phillies put the game out of reach with three runs in the seventh inning, making it 7-2. The Rockies attempted a comeback in the ninth, scoring two runs, but ultimately fell short.

The Phillies’ offense was led by Bryce Harper, who drove in two runs, and Nick Castellanos, who added another RBI. Max Kepler contributed with an RBI double, and Kyle Schwarber hit his 17th home run of the season. On the mound, JesΓΊs Luzardo delivered a strong performance, pitching six innings and allowing only one run while striking out ten batters.

For the Rockies, Antonio Senzatela started the game and gave up four runs on 10 hits over six innings. The bullpen struggled, particularly in the seventh inning, allowing the Phillies to extend their lead. Offensively, the Rockies managed eight hits, with contributions from several players, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Phillies’ lead.

The Rockies, now with a record of 8-40, will look to bounce back in the next game of the series. The Phillies, improving to 30-18, continue to solidify their position in the NL East.
