Rangers Recall Jake Burger, Option Blaine Crim

Before Monday night’s series opener against the Colorado Rockies, the Texas Rangers made a move that felt inevitable.

Texas recalled Jake Burger from AAA Round Rock after he spent six games there getting what manager Bruce Bochy called a “reset”.

While with the Express, Burger slashed .391/.462/.1.158 with 2 home runs and 6 RBI in six contests. On both Saturday and Sunday, Burger hit home runs as Round Rock took on El Paso.

Prior to the move on May 2nd, Burger was hitting just .190 with 3 home runs and 12 RBI with the Rangers.

In order to make room for Burger on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned Blaine Crim back down to AAA.

After being called up as the corresponding move for Burger, Crim appeared in five games for Texas, reaching base twice in six games with a walk and a hit by pitch.
