3 Takeaways From The Wings 119-52 Win Over The Toyota Antelopes
On Saturday night, Dallas Wings basketball returned to the College Park Center for the first time in 2025.
Dallas closed their exhibition schedule with a matchup against the Japanese League’s Toyota Antelopes.
The Wings had their way all night, cruising to a dominant 119-52 victory as they prepare for their season opener.
As always, there were plenty of takeaways, so let’s break down three of them.
1. Paige Bueckers plays an all-around complete basketball game – Performing in front of the DFW crowd for the first time, Paige Bueckers did not disappoint.
While playing just 22 minutes, Bueckers had a strong showing, scoring 15 points with 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and a block to go along with it.
Bueckers seemed much more in sync with the flow of the game compared to her preseason debut, as he seemingly made the right play on almost every occasion with the ball in her hands.
2 A different level of competitiveness – Before the game, Dallas Wings head coach Chris Koclanes said he felt like there was another level of competitiveness his team could reach.
Safe to say, his team reached that tonight from the opening tip to the final buzzer, Dallas was flying around, diving for loose balls, and matching the fast pace of the Antelopes.
Dallas was active all night on the defensive end, forcing 24 turnovers and scoring 49 points off of them.
3 Bring on the real thing – It’s time for the real thing to start.
Dallas will open their 2025 season on Friday when it welcomes the Minnesota Lynx to the College Park Center.
Alas, no more minutes restrictions, no more speculations and we will finally get to see what the 2025 Dallas Wings are.
Before then, the Wings front office will have to finalize their roster, making the final crunches and cuts.
