AEW Dynamite: Teams Line Up for Anarchy in the Arena
Jon Moxley and Samoa Joe have two big matches lined up after leading their teams into battle last night on AEW Dynamite.
Master P, a rapper from the late ‘90s, opened the show by introducing Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata (The Opps).
Moxley and the Death Riders attacked, seeking revenge for losing the AEW trios title last week. The Young Bucks & Kazuchika Okada (The Elite) came out to help the Death Riders.
Swerve Strickland and Kenny Omega helped The Opps run off the heel factions.
This is all leading to the Anarchy in the Arena match at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view next month.
Also, Samoa Joe will challenge Moxley for the AEW World title at the Beach Break episode of Dynamite on May 14 in Chicago.
QUEST FOR THE CUP
Jamie Hayter defeated Kris Statlander in the main event with the Hayter-ade lariat.
Hayter advanced to Double or Nothing, where she will face Mercedes Mone for the women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup.
TAG TEAM ACTION
The Young Bucks returned to competition for the first time since losing the AEW tag team title to Private Party last fall.
Nick & Matt Jackson won a high-flying battle against Speedball Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight.
Josh Alexander & Konosuke Takeshita of the Don Callis Family defeated Brody King & Will Ospreay.
Mark Briscoe pinned Ricochet in the opening match.
FTR ATTACKS R&R
Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler (FTR) added Stokely Hathaway as their manager and attacked the Rock & Roll Express. FTR even said that the Midnight Express was better!
Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong (The Paragon) made the save, setting up a match on Collision this Saturday after the NBA playoffs.
