Shedeur Sanders is a Cleveland Brown. After countless days, and hundreds of hours of media coverage; the star quarterback of the Colorado Buffaloes was selected with the 144th pick in the fifth round of the NFL Draft. It was a very contentious move that fans have been debating ever since it happened. But it’s official; the spawn of Deion will officially be playing for the saddest team in the NFL.

It was a rough road for the 4th best quarterback in the draft during his monumental slide down the board. He was being mocked at all turns, whether it was through social media or the mainstream media. He was put underneath a microscope, and turned into one of the biggest case studies in football history.

But the worst part of the weekend for Sanders? It had to be when he received THIS “prank call” from the “New Orleans Saints.”

This……this was one of the most classless, “sleezeball-like” pranks that someone could pull off. I don’t care what you think, or what your thoughts are about Shedeur; the thought of someone messing with you on the biggest day of your career……it just sucks. It sounds absolutely terrible, and something that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

The worst part about this moment though…..was that there had to be a HUGE LEAK in the league for it to happen. According to Shedeur himself; he purchased that phone specifically for the draft, and the only people who had the phone number were NFL personnel.

It was supposed to be incognito, and a tactic to keep something like this from happening. But sadly…….Jax Ulbrich had other plans. Sadly, the son of Atlanta Falcons DC Jeff Ulbrich reportedly decided to conduct this “prank” with his friends from school, after securing Sanders’ number from his father’s iPad that was left out unattended. This would then lead to Jax himself, as well as the Atlanta Falcons organization, to issue a formal statement to the media about the situation.

Now, I will admit……I have been one of the biggest “Shedeur Doubters” on the internet the past couple of days. After seeing all of the reports regarding him acting “entitled” during his pre-draft meetings, and the fact that he had four losses against the “butt-crack” of his conference last season; I was ALL OVER him slipping to the fifth round. I personally believe that he deserved to drop like he did. That’s just who I am, and that’s just what I think.

However……this so-called “prank” was rather ridiculous, if you ask me. I don’t care how you feel about Shedeur, his father, or the Sanders family as a whole; no one deserves to have this happen to them. No one deserves to have someone mess with their emotions, on arguably the biggest day of their entire life.

It is just a sick feeling to think about, and I’m sure Jeff Ulbrich is REALLY feeling the most pain out of anyone involved in this situation. Jeff could’ve EASILY been fired because of what happened, and it would’ve been all his kid’s fault. This kid is living a pretty sweet life being the son of a coach, and it could’ve all went up in smoke because of this one stupid act.

Thankfully, no jobs have been lost (as of writing this), and the Ulbrich family is just on an “apology tour” of sorts. But GOD! What a stupid and reckless thing for this kid to do. Hopefully good ol’ Jeff read him the riot act, and THEN SOME!

But in the end, as always….what do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
