3 Potential Trade Destinations for Cleveland Browns QB Kenny Pickett

The Cleveland Browns made it a point to add to the. quarterback room this offseason.

Cleveland did this in the form of two veterans and two rookies. The Browns made a trade to acquire Kenny Pickett before signing Joe Flacco to a one-year deal. Cleveland went into the draft and added Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

The Browns will likely enter camp with three quarterbacks and this means there will be one man left out. If it is Pickett, there will be trade partners for the Browns.

This is not a foregone conclusion that Pickett will be moved but if he is, these teams could be interested.

3. Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons will enter the season with second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. as the starter. This leaves Kirk Cousins on the bench, which means he could be moved soon. The Falcons have quarterback decisions to make themselves. Once the dust settle, Atlanta might be in need of a veteran backup. Pickett fits the narrative as a veteran who could backup Penix Jr. this season.

2. Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders brought in Pete Carroll to be the new head coach. This is a move to neutralize the franchise after a few hectic years in a row. Carroll decided to make a move for Geno Smith to be the new quarterback. Smith will now be in Vegas for years to come and this is another instance where a team could be looking for a backup. There are few teams that are in need of a Week 1 starter. The Raiders have their starter in place and Pickett is an experienced quarterback who could serve as a backup.

1. New Orleans Saints

The Derek Carr-era in New Orleans is over. He announced his retirement this offseason, leaving the Saints with few options under center. The front office opted for Louisville’s Tyler Shough in the NFL Draft. Right now, Shough could get an opportunity to start earlier than expected. If the Saints do not want to go into the season with the rookie just yet, Pickett could be the perfect bridge into next season.
