2025 NFL Draft: Top Suitors For Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson

The running back class is deep for this year’s NFL Draft.

There are many top runners that will be selected over the three-day event but who will creep into the first round? After Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, the field gets a little more interesting. Enter Ohio State product TreVeyon Henderson.

During his career with the Buckeyes, Henderson was able to take his performance up each year. In 2025, he was part of an elite duo with Quinshon Judkins in the backfield that helped Ohio State win a National Championship. Now, Henderson will have plenty of suitors in the draft.

Below, check out three teams that should be in on Henderson on draft night.

3. Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys enter the 2025 NFL Draft as a team that needs a running back, maybe more than anyone else. Dallas was near the bottom of the league in rushing last season. Jerry Jones decided not to pursue Derrick Henry in free agency, leaving Rico Dowdle as the primary back. We all saw how that worked out. The Cowboys will not be looking to take a running back early but if Henderson falls in the second, Dallas could decide to swoop in.

2. Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns need a replacement for Nick Chubb. Cleveland holds one of the top picks in the second round. If Henderson makes it to day two, watch out for the Browns to pull the trigger. There will be many options for the Browns to choose from as they look to rebuild an offense that was mediocre with many injuries. Cleveland will be regretting the Deshaun Watson deal for years to come but for now, it is important to add as much talent as possible on the offensive side of the ball.

1. Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders had one of the top offenses in the league last season with Jayden Daniels taking over under center. Washington made a run to the NFC Championship Game and improved the team this offseason. Another addition could be coming in the backfield. The Commanders have met with many running backs during the draft process and Henderson is near the top of the list. Brian Robinson is nearing the end of his rookie contract and remains a bruising back. Washington needs a speedy runner that can get away from a crowd. Henderson brings that ability along with a feel in the pass game. This would be an immediate upgrade for Washington.
