2025 Missouri Football: Season Preview, Schedule & Predictions

2024 SEASON-IN-REVIEW

Record: 10-3, Win vs. Iowa in Music City Bowl (27-24)

Missouri was a dark-horse team for the College Football Playoff last season. Missouri started out 4-0 after a double-overtime victory against Vanderbilt. The first loss of the season came in October to Texas A&M. After splitting against Alabama and Oklahoma, Missouri sat at 7-2 and had a chance to win out and make it interesting for the playoff. The chances ended with a close loss to South Carolina.

OFFENSE: Tigers Have to Replace Production

Missouri lost a lot of production from last year’s team, especially on the outside and offensive line.

Both Luther Burden and Theo Wease have moved on and this leaves holes in the wide receiver room. Marquis Johnson will take over as one of the team’s top pass catcher with 352 yards. Mississippi State transfer Kevin Coleman is also expected to make an impact right away after 74 catches and 932 yards last season.

The competition under center will feature two big arms. Beau Pribula transferred in from Penn State this offseason and will be in the mix right away. He will be up against Sam Horn, who doubles as a pitcher on the baseball team in the spring.

Pribula might not have been a starter for the Nittany Lions but he got plenty of work out of a backup role,

The offensive line lost Armand Membou, who was a Top 10 pick in the NFL Draft. The line remains strong with the addition of tackle Keagen Trost. Dominick Giudice will likely shift to guard while Connor Tollison mans the center position.

This offensive line will block for a talented group of backs. Ahmad Hardy rushed for over 1,300 yards and 13 touchdowns with Louisiana-Monroe last season.

DEFENSE: New-Look Tigers Want to Get to the QB

The Tigers lost Johnny Walker along the front and this led to Missouri rebuilding the defensive line.

Damon Wilson came over from Georgia as one of the most-coveted players in the portal. Nate Johnson was another big-time transfer to join Zion Young on the other side.

As for the linebackers, Josiah Trotter returns after 92 tackles as a freshman at West Virginia. He will only improve from here along with Triston Newson. The front seven has a chance to be the strength of the defense.

The secondary will not be a slouch either. Marvin Banks Jr. and Dylan Carnell were top four on the team in tackles last season. Jalen Catalon is a seven-year player coming in from UNLV to take over a safety position.
